The Ministry of Public Infrastructure to Amplify Voice on Social Media Platform X

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The benefits that social media presents to engage the general public on matters of public interest are among the primary reasons for the Ministry of Public Infrastructure’s widening its net to social media platform X.

Why Focus on X Now?

Until now, the ministry’s primary form of engagement on social media has been through Facebook and WhatsApp, and occasional posts on YouTube. The ministry has kept a keen eye on key indicators of its success on the first two platforms, including the number of followers and regular engagements with its posts.

The success it enjoys on these social media platforms provides the motivation for sharing its content on other social media platforms, with X being the first of them to see a boost in ministerial content.

How Much Will the Content Differ?

Although some of the content will be similar to that shared on the other platforms, the ministry’s use of X is not intended to be a photocopy of its footprint on the other platforms. Instead, the intent is to provide unique content, and a fresh take on recycled content, to maximize the engagement of existing and new subscribers across all of its social media platforms.

What Kind of Content Will Be Featured?

Squarely in its sights are ways to increase ongoing interactions with the general public, while sharing ministerial developments to keep the public informed of pertinent facts via pithy posts that utilize the breadth of multimedia.

Currently, the ministry’s WhatsApp Channel boasts branded posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to keep followers apprised of the work within the ministry, including the whereabouts of the public-facing factions of the departments of Public Works and Water Services.

To complement that content, the ministry will introduce additional branded content that will only be featured on X. The first of such content, Frequently Asked Questions Fridays, will feature anticipated questions and responses relative to the projects, services, and operations of the departments within the ministry.

The public can expect the new content to incorporate the objectives of related sensitization campaigns for multiple projects in the ministry’s pipeline.
