Milling Underway at the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The Public Works Department (PWD) in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, and Domestic Transport continues its aggressive road improvement plan, now with its sights set on the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site.

Over the years, roads had deteriorated to a state of unevenness, bringing discomfort to customers and workers frequenting the businesses in the area. On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, signs of transformation are present thanks to the hardworking team of the PWD, who have devoted their skill, sweat, and labour to road improvements at that location.

Passersby may observe the team milling in preparation for additional activities to facilitate resurfacing the existing roadway. Undoubtedly, such activities will provide a smoother journey for drivers who have endured the rattles induced by a road whose appearance indicates its utility as an artery through a historical and integral part of Basseterre.

As the PWD continues its work in the area, it appeals to motorists to obey speed limits and traffic signs to ensure personal safety and the safety of its workers.

The department anticipates completing the project by May 30, 2025.
